The first work package (WP1) is coordinated by Gemma Scalise (UNIMIB) and Anton Hemerijck (EUI) and is devoted to (1) initial coordination of research organizations (UNIMIB and EUI) and organizational, technological, methodological and financial check to ensure the consistency and coherency of the project; (2) the post-doc team will perform a systematic literature review to provide new literature and insights into the existing knowledge and evidence on SI policy at different territorial levels; (3) all research members work on the development of the Social Investment theoretical paradigm to fit with the subnational level of governance, specifically to be applied at city level, and to target the three investigated groups (long-term unemployed, people with disability, working women); (4) WP coordinators and post-docs discuss the research strategy and analytical framework with the advisory board; (5) post-docs finetune the research tools in preparation of WP2 and WP3. A report of the systematic literature review and a theoretical working paper on the stock-flow-buffer city framework will be produced, and the CITILab website will be set up and launched.
