The fourth work package (WP4) is coordinated by Gemma Scalise (UNIMIB) and Anton Hemerijck (EUI) and is carried out by all the research staff. The WP is aimed to
(1) the triangulation of quantitative and qualitative collected data;
(2) case studies comparison;
(3) interpretation of results, by identifying strengths and weaknesses of existing city policies, shed light on policy impact, develop policy learning processes that increase understanding of policy effects and solutions;
(4) discussions of final results with advisory board and the partnership of stakeholders and civil society organizations;
(5) build a context-specific policy agenda fitting the context of Milan, made of policy recommendations indicating the approaches for designing, developing, implementing and monitoring Social Investment (SI) city measures.
Main dissemination activities will include:
1) the Social Investment Policy Agenda for Milan delivered to city policy makers and stakeholders: a comprehensive policy toolkit indicating the approaches for designing, implementing and monitoring a SI city strategy, which will consist of targeted, applicable and complementary measures aimed at contrasting the different overlapping dimensions of labour market inequalities which affect the long-term unemployed, people with disabilities and working women; infographics illustrating the policy agenda, with data on problems addressed and policy solutions, will be disseminated on social media, on the project website, and in local and national popular newspapers;
2) a scientific dissemination package will consist of three scientific articles and one monograph to be submitted to international journals and editor. The involved researchers will present CITILab results at international conferences.
3) Final results will be presented also to the wider public, through publications on popular magazines, interviews given on local radio and TV; the organization of Open Workshops with national and local policy makers, stakeholders involved in social policy and labour maket regulation, trade unions, employers’ organization, job center staff, disability and gender organizations (detailed in the communication plan); news on the project, policy agenda toolkit, infographics will be published on the CITILab website and social media. Finally, to enhance exchange and dialogue between research and society, CITILab research team will organize round tables with policy makers and stakeholders, will visit civil society organizations (e.g. disability, gender) and set up of an interactive section on the CITILab website to open an on line debate.
